چکیده

According to Bergey’s Manual of Systematic Bacteriology [48], the genus Aeromonas includes the following species: Aeromonas hydrophila, Aeromonas bestiarum, Aeromonas salmonicida, Aeromonas caviae, Aeromonas media, Aeromonas eucrenophila, Aeromonas sobria, Aeromonas veronii (biovars sobria and veronii), Aeromonas jandaei, Aeromonas schubertii, Aeromonas trota, Aeromonas allosaccharophila, Aeromonas encheleia, Aeromonas popoffii and two DNA homology groups: Aeromonas spp. (HG11) and Aeromonas spp. (HG13; former Enteric Group 501). During the last decade, several new species are described: Aeromonas culicicola [71], Aeromonas simiae [29], Aeromonas molluscorum [53], Aeromonas bivalvium [52], Aeromonas aquariorum [49], Aeromonas piscicola [9], Aeromonas fluvialis [4], Aeromonas taiwanensis and Aeromonas sanarellii [3], Aeromonas rivuli [23].Aeromonas spp. are not part of the natural intestinal flora. In the faeces of healthy animals and people, they could be detected only after ingesiton of contaminated food or water [31].

Detection of tetracycline resistance genes in bacteria isolated from fish farms using polymerase chain reaction

Five common tetracycline resistance genes tet(A), tet(B), tet(M), tet(O) and tet(S) were studied by polymerase chain reaction in 100 bacteria isolated from Iranian fish farms. In the antibiogram test most of the bacteria were either intermediately or completely resistant to tetracycline. Nine isolates out of 46 Aeromonas spp. contained eithe...

Construction of vaccine from Lactococcus lactis bacteria using Aeromonas hydrophila virulent Aerolysin gene

In this study the forward and reverse primers were designated to amplify the segments (~250 bps and ~650 bps) of the gene coding domains 1 and 4 of aerolysin of Aeromonas hydrophila. These two domains are involved in pathogenesis of the aerolysin gene. Sequences for two restriction enzymes, Pst I and Hind III, were included in the forward and reverse primers respectively. These restriction enz...

Occurrence and Activity of the Chitinolytic Bacteria of Aeromonas Genus

A study was carried out on the occurrence and activity of chitinolytic planktonic bacteria of Aeromonas sp., Aeromonas hydrophila and Aeromonas salmonicida species, isolated from lake Jeziorak. Among the identified strains decomposing chitin the most abundant were Aeromonas sp.. All the investigated strains showed maximum chitinolytic activity at pH 6.0. An increase in chitinolytic activity was...

Comparative study on bacterial flora of the intestine in Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus) fingerlings reared in fiberglass tanks and earthen ponds

In this study, random sampling conducted and 90 individuals of Persian sturgeon having 3-5g weight, collected by trawling in 3 earthen ponds and 15 individuals having 10-20g weight, collected by small net in 3 fiberglass Vans. After recording of biometrical characteristics, the intestine and rearing water were cultured on TSA medium. Gram staining and complementary tests were conducted. In orde...

Production of Non-Ribosomal Peptide Synthetase (NRPS)- Dependent Siderophore by Aeromonas Isolates

Background: Aeromonas species are Gram-negative ubiquitous bacteria, facultative anaerobic rods that infect both invertebrates and vertebrates. Various fish species develop hemorrhagic disease and furunculosis due to Aeromonas spp. Aeromonas strains generate certain active compounds such as siderophores, which are the final products of non-ribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) activity. The prese...
